Denver Leak Detection & Repair

Serving Customers in Arvada & Beyond

Water pipes wear out and can affect the performance of your plumbing system in a variety of ways. Mineral buildup can cause the water supply to be restricted and that reduces water pressure, and old pipe joints can corrode and become weak over time. Leaky water pipes can cause water damage that promotes mold and mildew growth, creating unhealthy indoor air. At AAA Service Plumbing, Heating & Electric, our team of skilled pipe repair experts in Denver are here to help!

We can diagnose all plumbing leaks, review the overall condition of your water pipes, and recommend options for repairing aging water pipe systems – call 303-313-3333 for quality leak detection in Denver and the surrounding areas.

Signs of Leaky Pipes

While some leaks are minor and can be easily identified (for example, a leak in your toilet, showerhead, or faucet), others aren’t quite so easy. These hidden leaks and slab leaks are the ones that are the most dangerous and can end up costing you money you don’t have (or at least don’t want to spend on repairing water damage). Be cautious and know the common signs of leaking pipes in and around your home.

How to Know If You Have a Water Leak:

  • Unusually high water bills – If you notice your water bill has spiked and you haven’t had any abnormal activity or water use in your Denver home to explain the cost, it could be an indicator that you have a leak. Keep in mind that you’ll likely notice other indicators, such as damp spots, water rings, or even puddles, in your home should that be the case.
  • Change in water pressure – If you typically have good water pressure and suddenly notice low water pressure in your home, act sooner. It likely means that there is an issue that should be addressed. A disturbance in the line, such as a rupture or clog, can change water pressure.
  • Wet spots – Wet spots are generally a pretty telltale sign of a leak. You’ll want to look specifically around your sinks, bathtub or shower, and toilets. A wet spot may be visibly wet or noticeable discolored and can be a key indicator that you have a leak.
  • Mold or mildew – Moisture in the walls of your home creates the ideal breeding ground for mold and mildew. If you notice mold or mildew forming on one of your non-shower walls, you’ll want to have it checked immediately for a leaky pipe problem.
  • Stale or musty odor – When water or moisture accumulates, it creates an odor. Most describe the smell as stale or musty. If you have done any cleaning in your home but notice there is a lingering musty smell, it may be a sign that you have a leaky pipe. The smell is a great indicator.

If you notice any of these indicators, get a service scheduled soon. Contact our Denver plumbing team today to schedule a consultation, so we can help you avoid further damage to your home.

Impact of Leaks From Faucets & Toilets

Leaks that are barely perceptible to the naked eye can waste thousands of gallons of fresh water a year, costing you hundreds of dollars in excess water bills. A slow drip can waste as much as 150 gallons of water each day, or 4,500 gallons per month and will add to the water bill. If you have a leak that you know of, get it fixed before all that money goes, literally, down the drain.

It’s a good idea to have a professional Denver plumber do a complete household check-up to find leaks that escape casual notice. Also, the damage from an ongoing leak is typically far more expensive to take care of than the original problem if it is addressed in a timely and professional manner.

Big shout out to Spencer Dunnington and David Pineda. They did a new panel upgrade for my house and did an amazing job. I also want to give Jon Williams a huge thank you for taking time to come explain what was needed and why. The guys were professional and nice. I must of come out a half dozen times to ask random questions and check on work, each time I was met with a smile and questions answered quickly and throughly. They also did a great job running a new circuit for my sump pump in the crawl space. I even have a service loop so that it can be moved if needed. Nothing but good things to say about these gentleman and their work. 10/10 would come again!
